In the current world of digital media, every user-created file should contain metadata. This course will provide the students with detailed information on what metadata is, where it can be found and how it can be used when investigating claims. Also, how this information can be useful in providing leads as well as support for interviews and EUO’s. In the end, attendees will learn how to obtain, view, and document metadata found in photos and other files, such as Word, Excel, and PDF files, and how metadata can and can’t be used in civil and criminal investigations.
