On April 9, 2022, NICB Special Agent K. Hutt joined the Virginia State Police and the Newport News Police Department at a catalytic converter VIN etching event. The event was held at the Newport News Police Department headquarters where 44 vehicles were provided etching services. Additionally, the NICB and the VSP distributed educational resources about auto theft prevention and catalytic converter theft prevention.
