Maryland- Federalsburg Woman Arrested for Arson
FEDERALSBURG, Md.- Authorities say they have arrested a Federalsburg woman accused of intentionally setting her house on fire for the purpose of committing insurance fraud.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office said the fire was reported shortly after 5 a.m. June 15, 2020, at a home located at 3835 Seippes Road.
The house was destroyed and caused an estimated $215,000 in damages.
Deputy state fire marshals said the owner, 45-year-old Caitlin Hudson, was quickly identified as a suspect in the investigation, which revealed she intended to make a fraudulent insurance claim after the fire.
