NICB Assists with Chop Shop Investigation

The NICB assisted local law enforcement with a two-month long investigation into an alleged large-scale auto theft crew who was suspected of stealing heavy duty Ford pickups and then parting them out. Law enforcement executed search warrants at two locations.

The NICB Agent was able to assist by identifying vehicles and vehicle parts at the locations after law enforcement completed their warrant service.

The investigation resulted in the arrest of four individuals on charges of alleged Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, the recovery of several complete vehicles, and the recovery of numerous motor vehicle parts. The value of the recoveries is estimated at $815,867.
