Virginia contractor arrested on 3 felony warrants after $34K remodeling dispute

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (7News) — A Northern Virginia contractor has been arrested on three felony warrants alleging construction fraud, while a homeowner says the contractor’s now-dissolved remodeling company took a $34,000 deposit and never started work.

The 7News I-Team also found the contractor, Eyup Onal, is connected to another Northern Virginia remodeling business that remains open and is owned by his wife.

Investigators issued warrants this week in Prince William County and allege violations of Virginia’s construction-fraud statute, according to information obtained from Prince William County Police.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office confirms Eyup Onal was arrested Wednesday night on three felony warrants issued by Prince William County.

Onal has since posted the required secured bond and was released from Loudoun County custody.

The development comes as the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR), which oversees contractor licensing, confirms it has 17 open complaints involving Onal’s former company, NV Kitchen and Bath Remodeling.
