Cape Coral handyman gets months in jail after changing plea in Hurricane Ian fraud case

A Cape Coral handyman accused of failing to complete work he was paid for after Hurricane Ian learned his fate this week after he changed his plea last month.
Robert Doerr, 35, on July 10 pleaded no contest to one count of second-degree grand theft and two counts of unlicensed contracting. Lee Circuit Judge Bruce Kyle on Monday sentenced him to nine months in jail on each count, which will run concurrent.
The state on July 10 dropped the charges of scheme to defraud more than $20,000; exploitation of an elderly person; and fraud.
Doerr was the owner of owned DBA Precision Painting Pros.
