Arizona Automobile Theft Authority Reports 25% Decrease in 2025 Vehicle Thefts
Phoenix, AZ: The Arizona Automobile Theft Authority (AATA) Division of the Arizona Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions (DIFI) is pleased to announce a 25% decrease in vehicle thefts in Arizona during 2025. Data compiled by the Auto Crime Tracker database shows that in 2025, vehicle thefts totaled 12,686 – a significant decrease from the 17,010 vehicles stolen in 2024. 2025 marks the third consecutive year Arizona has seen a decrease in vehicle thefts.
The AATA also reports that the most popular vehicles stolen in Arizona remain consistent. Chevrolet Silverado remains the most stolen vehicle, with Kia and Hyundai vehicles occupying four of the top six spots and pickup trucks securing four positions.
