John O’Rourke, 27, was arrested under the name John Casey in Bridgeport in February 2025. He has other cases pending after being arrested in several other states.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — A citizen of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland was charged in New Haven federal court on Wednesday with illegally reentering the United States after being deported.

That individual is 27-year-old John O’Rourke, who also uses several aliases, according to a report Thursday from the interim U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut.

Following his court appearance, O’Rourke was ordered detained.

Court documents and statements allege that O’Rourke has used fictitious names such as “John O’Rourke,” “Michael Casey,” “John Joyce,” “Robert Davanzo,” “David Collins” and “James McCormack.”

On Oct. 7, 2024, O’Rourke was caught by U.S. Border Patrol personnel along with four other people near Fort Covington, N.Y., near the Canadian border. He used an alias at the time.

Investigators discovered that O’Rourke did not have legal status in the U.S.

He was removed by foot from New York to Canada on Oct. 15, 2024.

Prosecutors allege further that on Feb. 18, 2025, O’Rourke was arrested using the name “John Casey” in Bridgeport. He was charged with state offenses such as evading responsibility and breach of peace. Continue article
