BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A New Orleans man wanted in connection with a residential contractor fraud charge in a 2018 case was recently arrested in Plaquemines Parish.

The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that Jarred Griffin, 44, had claimed to own Alpha Contractors in Houma and accepted a deposit before reportedly never coming back to start the construction project in Pierre Part.

Deputies had talked with the complainant on June, 28, 2018. An arrest warrant was secured on Nov. 15, 2018, after investigators learned that neither Griffin nor the business was licensed for contracting services in the state.

On March 30 of this year, Plaquemine Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Griffin. He remains jailed in the Assumption Parish Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
