Arizona Automobile Theft Authority Reports 15% Decrease In 2024 Vehicle Thefts

Phoenix, AZ – The Arizona Automobile Theft Authority (AATA), a division of the Arizona Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions (DIFI), reports that Arizona vehicle thefts decreased by 15% in 2024, marking a second straight year of decline. Current data compiled by the AATA’s Auto Crime Tracking (ACT) database shows that Arizona had 17,010 vehicles reported stolen in 2024, nearly 3,000 fewer than the 20,006 reported stolen in the ACT database in 2023.
