Cypress doctor indicted for alleged health care fraud

A Cypress doctor was indicted by a federal grand jury on a single count of conspiracy to commit health care fraud.
Fatima Sayeed appeared before Magistrate Judge Christina A. Bryan on Oct. 16 by video, where federal prosecutors allege, she knowingly conspired to execute a scheme to defraud a Medicare healthcare benefit program along with alleged co-conspirators.
Prosecutors allege Sayeed was affiliated with five clinics that from October 2009 through June 2016 and that she signed medical forms authorizing home health services for Medicare beneficiaries that were not medically necessary, not provided, or both.
